Business Policy Update

About the Project

One of the cornerstones of a Saint Joseph's University education in the business school is completing the class business policy. This class challenges students to undergo a semester long project to discover the functional problems of a company by analyzing the internal and external environments in which the firm operates.
Afterwards, we create a presentation to show our findings and develop a strategy to either remedy the issues faced by the company or tackle other strategic objectives set by the team.

My Group & My Contributions

My group chose Caesars Entertainment, a casino-gambling company with a turbulent past and an uncertain future. Since I was a Finance and Business Intelligence & Analytics double major, I was charged with the internal and external analysis of the past financial statements and preparing the pro-forma statements with updated forecasts to reflect our strategy. Included here are our slides. I utilized my graphic design skills to create the theme for the slide deck (I can link them here if anyone would want them) and I utilized my skills in finance to prepare all of the financials for our company.
Given that most companies don't report much internal information outside of their 10K, 10Q, and other financial filings, a large majority of the research and quantitative analysis landed on me since I was the only finance major in the group.

The Future For This Project / Other Updates

In addition to the slide deck, I also started a Tableau Visualization that I unfortunately was not able to complete. I will post this once I finish debugging it, but it wasn't worth developing further during the course of the class due to time restrictions in developing it and that our group only had 15 minutes to present.
Stay tuned for more updates in the future, but I hope to push the boundaries further with this project.
